         As a boy Dick Walker studied the violin, piano and music theory until he entered the United States Coast Guard Reserve in 1960.

        In 1962 he began an eighteen year career in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff in southern California where he was employed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Riverside County Sheriff's Department. He was assigned to patrol, Jail, Homicide investigations, jail commander, major violator narcotic investigations and as a parol Lieutenant.

       After completing he B. A. with a major in Psychology at California Baptist University in Riverside, California he worked for five years in Psychiatric hospitals.

       About 1990 he resumed his music career which includes a Master of Music degree from the University of Redlands in Redlands, California, and post graduate studies at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. He is a former member of the Redlands Symphony Orchestra and performs in a variety of genres. With the Wedgewood Trio he has performed for audiences in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States.
He is a member of the country music band of
Geronimo Trevino III and with them has opened for Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Asleep at the Wheel and Ray Price as well as performing in major country music venues in Texas. He also performs with Roy West, Christian Country Music artist based in Pleasanton, Texas. With Tim Porter, guitar, and Gary Hatch, bass,  both of Kerrville, Dick performs throughout Texas as the Dick Walker Trio. They have appeared in many churches and private functions. 

       Dick is a member of the Violin Society of America and Pi Kappa Lambda.

       Dick's teaching studios are graciously provided by the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville, Texas and the First Baptist Church of Poteet in Poteet, Texas.

       Dick and his wife Letha, a professional educator, live in Leakey, Texas where Dick continues his performance, recording and teaching career.
